Chemical Properties |
Caustic Soda, a highly potent alkali with immense corrosiveness, primarily comes in the guise of flakes or blocks. Its solubility in water is remarkable, releasing heat as it dissolves, transforming into an alkaline solution. This alkaline nature also renders it susceptible to absorbing moisture and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, causing it to deliquesce and deteriorate. Its unique properties make it a vital ingredient in various industrial processes, yet its handling requires utmost caution due to its corrosive nature. |
